PMA Companies Names Derek Hopper, CPCU, Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer

PMA Companies has named Derek Hopper, CPCU, Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer. He will be responsible for leading the Underwriting, Product Management & Development, Risk Control, and Corporate Marketing areas. He will continue to report to John Santulli, President and Chief Executive Officer, PMA Companies.

Derek joined PMA in 1990 and has held various leadership roles in our large and middle market underwriting segments, as well as Corporate Distribution. Most recently, Derek was Senior Vice President, Shared Services. Derek has served as a key member of PMA’s Office of the President & CEO.

Hopper received a B.A. in Political Science and Public Policy Management from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA, and an MBA in Finance from the Erivan K. Haub School of Business, St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia, PA. He has earned Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and Associate in Claims (AIC) designations.
