PMA Companies has appointed Sashi Aiyathurai as Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer. Ms. Aiyathurai will oversee all aspects of PMA's insurance underwriting and corporate distribution functions and serve as a key member of the Office of the CEO, reporting to Derek Hopper, President & CEO, PMA Companies.

“Sashi is a proven leader who believes in consistent execution, collaboration, accountability, and teamwork," said Hopper. "Her experience in production underwriting and regional underwriting management, workers’ compensation and commercial auto line of business stewardship, underwriting portfolio management, and corporate strategy development and execution will be invaluable to PMA.” 

Ms. Aiyathurai brings to PMA more than 25 years' of increasing operational and profit and loss responsibilities at leading property and casualty insurance companies. 

A graduate of the University of Texas McCombs School of Business, Ms. Aiyathurai holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations.
